Alright so the person who gave this goofy mutt her necklace (collar) when they were younger has shown back up in her life. You can see they were both in school when she got the collar. Now I presume her original "owner" (first real love perhaps?) that presumably left her to go off to college or something has returned at their house.

This is where it all started. Mutt's "never fall in love so you don't know how it feels to be abandoned and alone," attitude likely comes from this woman.

Also important to note. Mutt is currently in school, as in a minor. She stayed and probably had sex with a woman who looks to be an adult. This is a very bad thing and indicative of how far gone our mutt is. Desperately clinging to any form of validation to silence the pain of losing her first real love. Any woman/girl will do. It's pitiful. Furthermore, the adult should be in prison.

Aoi looking like Mashiro makes her being one of Amano's "playmates" makes a lot of sense.

Mashiro being an adult while Amano(Yuhi) is still a student goes a fair ways in explaining why Yuhi is the way she is. Age gap romance is not uncommon in yuri stories, and is being coded as a "not-good" thing here. Yuhi being exploited when she was younger by an older Mashiro and "used" in some way would explain why Yuhi is the way she is now. And, potentially, why she was the way she was when Sakurako first tried to confess to her.
Honestly, I'm betting Yuhi even would have gone with Sakurako back then, but Mashiro had some hold over her at the time (ether by being in her life, or by screwing her up and then dropping her, leaving Yuhi all sorts of messed up), and it's only gotten worse since then.

The fact that Mashiro is showing up again, when Yuhi's older(?) sister is home, could mean that Mashiro was always involved with Onee-san, and went after Young Yuhi in secret. Which makes it all the worse, and could further contribute to Yuhi's messed up view of relationships and sex and love.
But, betting Yuhi is very much hung up on Mashiro. She welcomed Sakurako's "pet play" so readily that it's pretty clear she's had some history in power dynamic abuse, and Mashiro is looking to be the genesis point of all of her troubles.



So from here....Sakurako unfortunately has her own things to sort out, but if there's any hope for Yuhi and for a future for the two of them together, she'll need to be proactive in forcing Yuhi to explain and reveal her secrets.
The question will be, how that plays out.

We see Mashiro give Yuhi the necklace at the start of chapter 6 and ^ yeah, power dynamic abuse sure looks about right.
Yuhi forcing herself to not be serious about any relationship because she's already "owned".
Sakurako starting to realize this whole revenge persona thing kinda sucks and she'll have to drop it to get what she really wants.
I wonder if Aoi is actually relevant medium or long term or just a rando to show Yuhi's promiscuity continues.

Not sure if the story adding a bunch of complexity all at once means this series is doing well and it's time to expand the story or doing poorly and it's time to cram stuff in before the axe. I'll pray for the former, because this is getting good.

The series release schedule has been a mess ever since volume 2 started. In fact, the first half of chapter 9 currently has no date set to release. For a series that's supposed to release a full chapter monthly, skipping January, only half chapters in February and March, no chapters in April or May, is not a good look. It can quickly squash any momentum the series was building. While it could still be okay, these repeated delays might signify some other behind-the-scenes issue. Though it's also clear that the author's other ongoing manga, Destroy It All and Love Me In Hell! is getting preferential focus.
