Who is the doggo indeed. Yuuhi might wear the collar (where people can see) but Sakurako is the one being strung along. She pretends to be a tough master but acts like a needy puppy most of the time (Mocchi is definitely a dog name)

And this chapter confirms that Yuuhi is clueless about who Sakurako is and not actually playing 3D chess.

I really like that she's floundering so badly and is just barely holding it together in front of Amano.
Makes it feel more believable, yes, but also just more earnest and sincere on her part. She wants to play the part of the domineering villain for revenge, but her default nature very much getting in the way of that just further cements that all she wants is love and affection.

So I hope she gets it, even if things have to get a bit "ruff" in the process.

Well, this chapter confirmed that Sakurako isn't the one who gave Yuhi her necklace. My current read on the the plot is that Yuhi dated some other girl in the past who gave her that necklace, but things ended very badly, so Yuhi gave up on love similar to how Sakurako has. Then, Yuhi just started having casual flings. The story is likely Sakurako/Mocchi helping Yuhi getting over her heartbreak, thus allowing her to form a meaningful relationship again, as symbolized by Sakurako's collar replacing the ex's necklace.

I'm also not 100% sold that Saki didn't notice them together. Would spice up the plot for her to be interested in Sakurako and try to make a move now that she knows Sakurako is into girls. Could also give Yuhi something to think about, either get serious, or Sakurako could dump her for her friend.
