It'll be interesting to see where volume 2 takes us with the introduction of (at least one) additional character to serve as tension for these two.

Sakurako will hopefully find her footing as well, and maybe we'll get some backstory on Amano and who gave her that necklace that she clearly treasures. But I think the second volume will likely involve the third girl for the most part butting heads with Sakurako and competing for Amano's affections, with Amano playing the field on both sides and just enjoying herself while keeping other parts of her locked away.

I very much look forward to seeing whether that initial "rejection" went as Sakurako interpreted it, or if she misunderstood Amano's meaning at that time, making all this "revenge" a moot point.

But I think Volume 2 will conclude with Sakurako realizing she does indeed still like/love Amano, and feeling more and more lost with what to do about it as Amano continues to show no desire to take things to that level with her, and maybe Amano letting some of her true self slip as it pertains to whether there's a reason she's as "unattached" as she appears to be - and potentially at least one more girl being introduced (maybe that "mystery necklace gifter") during that volume's final chapter, to throw yet another wrench in the works.

But, thank you for the continued work on this, and I look forward to more.

I want them to be doomed, but I’ve seen some comments about how it may play out, and it feels kind of cliché. But hey, this manga’s still in its early days, and I’m hopeful, so I’ll hold off on judging too much for now.

Chapter 5 ending text implied that Chiwa is about to bite back at Yuhi for mistreating her. "You can keep a pet if you like, but don't breed resentment". It seems Yuhi's carefree behavior is about to start causing her serious problems. And that the revenge theme of the manga doesn't only allude to Sakurako, but other characters Yuhi gets on the wrong side of. Also, chapter 1 had Yuhi refer to Chiwa as "a fuck-buddy I've got zero feelings for.", so there's really no competition to be had, especially if Chiwa starts becoming more controlling.

If the rejection does turn out to be a misunderstanding on Sakurako's part and she finds out about Yuhi getting hurt in romance before, which is why she acts the way she does now, it might cause Sakurako to re-examine herself and feel guilty for both cutting ties with Yuhi to begin with and starting this whole revenge plan in the first place. If Chiwa is planning to turn against Yuhi as payback, then that could also make Sakurako become more self-aware, since she wouldn't want to spiral to the point of truly harming Yuhi like Chiwa might. Sakurako might think it's best to distance herself from Yuhi out of guilt when that would be the opposite of what Yuhi actually wants.

And for other potential love rivals, I think Sakurako's friend Saki is a prime candidate. It would put to rest Sakurako's insecurity about her current friends not accepting the real her. Saki seems like a much more level-headed person than Yuhi is too, which could give Sakurako some needed security.
