It’s a common parenting style throughout most Asian countries, but yes, this is a korean series. 😂

But damn, poor girl. I grew up with a similar vibe from my parents but they were more lax and I generally fought back. Can’t imagine the insane amount of pressure that someone goes through like this.

@Monpetitlys I was talking about the mentality of always wanting a son instead of a daughter, which is more proeminent in China (and other asian countries to a lesser extent). But talking about the "only grades matter" type of parents, pretty much the whole world has cases like this, but again, the situation is [way] worse in asia.

She looked so cute and happy winning first prize 😭 Although guessing from how they mention a "grand" prize, it doesn't equate to first place?

Regardless, someone give her a hug!! MC, where you at

huhuhuuu my poor girl, she looks so happy winning the first prize. why her parents never have enough of it, like why dont just the parents create something brillian and brag about it to the whole family, dont use your kid for that.

Ah yes, shitty parents that treat their children like a punching bag for every single expectation they didn't meet from their parents, then to act like a victim after their children went off the deep end. Unfortunately this isn't just fiction, still can't get over how many times I've heard: "I only want what's best for my children," while psychologically torturing their kids.
