Yeah, same thoughts here. Could be that the alien teacher's info network is limited, or more excitingly, Granny actually did leave a portion of her powers with Okarun. Probably not in her character to do that, but who knows, people yokai change.

I'm not sure it's him, it might be a red herring. If he had the original sword that was stolen, why does he personally use a replica dagger?

I think more likely whoever he is opposing is making the replicas, he got a hand on one, and an unknown baddie is targeting the kids.
