What if this is not cured Momo but an alternate reality Momo brought by the hammer, and our Momo is trapped somewhere else? Or maybe it's just her memories that got trapped?
So many possibilities other than the old amnesia, trust the process...

Either way, this was somewhat expected but still very disappointing. It is absolutely not necessary to wait until the very end of a series to allow the main couple to actually become a couple.

But I do agree this is one of the most annoying delays and tropes.

Yeah, so I'll try to see the positives of this to cope:

• Good excuse to bring Turbo Granny back
• Aira gonna be super aggressive with pursuing Okarun. Funny, and might trigger something in Momo.
• Perhaps we'll see Momo being shy around Okarun, but not understanding why.

One big negative is Jiji might aggressively pursue Momo too, though maybe not since he might decide that is a scumbag move. I like him as a character, but I don't like his romance aspect with Momo for obvious reasons.

Lots of them start to get boring after they get together though so I can understand the author's hesitation if that's the case.

There have been less but it's still the norm to end pretty shortly after the confession

Plus this is still a shonen, you always have to have a carrot to dangle to come back week to week

Nop, I read a LOT of romcoms and the norm it's not ending after the confession anymore, sure, it's not always a lot of chapters but we generally have at least a few chapters with the main couple
And ok, but the carrot don't need to be their relationship, damn, there a lot of things that could be a better carrot and if Tatsu want a romantic carrot here is another one: side couples
