No author who pulls an amnesia arc to delay romance progress 200 chapters in deserves any faith. This is not the first stalling from Tatsu either. There is zero reason to start riding "Dandadan is different bro" dick train again. We have not even got back to where we were pre-shrink arc. Last 2 chapters removed Okarun's character progression (and balls) and this one decided to give it back. Okarun should have acted like this from the get go.

The romance has been stalled long before the amnesia arc. Ever since they both confessed and only needed a discussion to officially date, there have been convenient plot elements consistently introduced to seperate them. This has been going for well over a year and has long become predictable, which can be an issue for a series that otherwise tries to buck trends and be unique in its presentation.

The exhaustion with this sudden random amnesia is partly because the mechanical nature of needing to further postpone their getting together has become obvious even to average readers. You'll notice that they had very little one on one interactions for a while leading up to this arc, after having been close together quite for most of the series before.

It's not just this amnesia arc; this has been building for quite a bit and I've personally discussed this way back then as well (on Mangadex too). It's not hindsight; and the stalling has not been subtle for quite some time. It was a mistake to have them confess and progress their relationship as far as they did, if he didn't know what to do with it and that's something I've also said long before any of this arc.

Audiences can generally handle slow builds but they do not respect stalling or resets; this arc (and the 1 or 2 arcs before it) has been both.
