At least the D-list henchmen are gone.
But what was Smokey thinking deploying a water-guy against a toilet demon, that just feels like an obvious bad matchup. Fire farting guy isn't much better really, and again, as I describe them, I can't believe these were our antagonists for this section. You had an elemental trio and two of them were the lamest dweebs possible.

I feel like this fight might have been conceived purely so we could joke about how the water guy and farting guy are hard countered by a toilet ghost

On the contrary, this entire arc so far has been written like he has too much creative control and he can tell his editor to fuck off when they try to point out his meandering narrative and arbitrary villain circus just for the sake of wanting to draw his thinly disguised fetishes. That isn't indicative of an axing, it's indicative of market dominance and lack of oversight.

DanDaDan is too successful for its own good and the author is getting carried away without anyone being able to tell him "No". It's fucking George Lucas writing and directing the prequel movies.
Perhaps. The original Star Wars trilogy and heck, even One Piece, are only great because some people have to reign some of the creator's creativity in.

I see, thats why they had such impossibly stupid designs so that the readers would cheer when they die brutally

OG star wars was better due to having actual directors (even then I would say 6 isn't that great on a rewatch). I do agree that an editor is very necessary during a creative process. "Keep your hands off eizouken" highlights this relationship very well.

It's clearly not getting the axe any time soon.
But my god these past few episodes are written like axe-kun is looming.
To many characters being mass dumped and powerups tossed to be immediately negated.
It's one of the top ranked jump titles, why even mention the axe?
There's a lot of new elements as of late because the plot is sorta kicking into the next phase. Think Naruto when Akatsuki are introduced. After the hammer arc it almost feels like there was a timeskip.

Yeah that's why I mentioned Star Wars. There are lot of people that are more "realistic" so that the films don't go overbudget, or the story meanders, etc.

And as someone from the creative side (I have a webcomic), it's been a headache thinking if what I'm doing is too boring, or swing the other way and be "too creative" 😅. Not to mention story elements that may or may not get problematic later...

Look. I love DanDaDan but the moment anime finished airing Tatsu literally lost the plot. Last year worth of chapters resolved literally nothing and moved zero important plot point further, and that's on Tatsu with this quite cliche and stupid amnesia twist. Fights are good when they are working in context, and there's too little context, stakes are unclear and my care for all those random shmucks is almost zero, if I'm being honest.

Maybe Tatsu will remember that the whole story was about both Momo and Okarun solving their problems together, because so far they are acting separately in random chapters and the story simply lost it's core chemistry. Core chemistry of DDD are not fights, but vivid and atypical for shonen charachter interaction. Shame that auhor went full Gege and forgot about that part.

Contrary to some comments here I feel like we're back on track somewhat, and I like it.

Our two main characters lost their powers and now the villains are taking away their friends' powers. We're building up towards a big confrontation where the good guys are massively underpowered. There's a lot that could go wrong for them and some older plot threads could finally pay off to reverse the situation.

That's tension and tension is good!

summary of recent chapters : some random bull-sh!ts fight other random bull-sh!ts .

the random bull-sh!t characters :

* piano girl and singing girl .

* smoke guy , pumpkin-diaper guy , kappa guy .

* hanako-chan , aka the toilet girl .

* another toilet guy , his butt is super-glued to a toilet seat .

* a bird guy with straw clothes . obviously , the mangaka steals the 1st design of "He Liao Diao" / Ka Ryou Ten , from the manga "kingdom" .

i dont care if these random bull-sh!t characters win or lose , live or die .

actually , so far , diaper guy and kappa guy have not killed anyone , on screen . then hanako-chan just kills them in cold blood .

so hanako-chan is the bad guy / the evil villain , and diaper guy and kappa guy are the good guys / the victims .

and this chapter takes place in a toilet , so this chapter is so stinky , so disgusting . i want to puke .
