It kinda reminds me of the "one child only" policy in China back then. As a result, parents favored a son, and cursed having a daughter (with cases of abuse).
That policy was eventually and thankfully changed, but there still some ripple effects to this day. It skewed the population ratio in China where eventually there were more male than women.

the fact that it took only 1 (or more recently few pages) each chapters makes me forgot that yea it has well estabilished world building and somehow despite everything, it's pretty grounded.

as others pointed out already, Satou has been blessed with Akane, a mother that still loves her daughters and even has little sister after him. it's crazy that i didn't think too much about it until now, and it even has been hinted on old chapter that a mother usually doesn't want to have another kid after getting a son. i think Suzuki also has little sister? or maybe just a last child on his family? (i forgot please cmiiw)

just a more of a reminder that Satou's life situation could be worse if Akane doesn't care with her daughters, like a mother usually would apparently in this world.
Satou is a lucky boy xD
and now i appreciate their families more than ever, even with their absolute degeneracy towards him.
