Huge thanksies for the translation! This chapter was the best one yet; because my favorite pastime is to deeply ponder the moral implications of the actions of fictional characters in the manga I read for fun. It consumes me.

The content rating is only up-to-date. It doesn't speak to the content of whatever source material a manga may come from.

I still remember when Renge to Naruto was only rated "Suggestive". I wasn't following its scans religiously, but the next time I checked it, it was upgraded to an "Erotica".

I don't even think Act-Age was sexually explicit at all, and the author didn't pen anything before it other than the equally tame oneshot that spawned Act-Age.

If to believe wiki dude was arrested cause he touched middle school girls IRL - not cause manga had loli fan-service. So that whole idea that this manga will be axed cause younger girl is a potential love interest, cause a different author couldn't keep his fucking hands to himself IRL makes kinda little to no sense to me.

Act age is just the most recent example I'm aware of of a mangaka going to jail, and is also quite recent overall, that's why I used it and not for example Kenshin where the author was arrested long after the manga was completed.

I've absolutely seen manga that are worse, some of which I had to drop because they were so bad, and the authors as far as I know never committed any crimes, but with such a recent example I'm a bit more sensitive than I used to be to this type of thing, I'll admit that perhaps its overly so.

And you're correct, act age was not particularly explicit in any way. It's specifically the author that was the problem.

Gonna be honest, both the novel and the manga would be better without Yuka. The literature girl is already borderline pretty bad, but the smaller age difference makes it easier to it ignore. With Yuka however, I always feel grossed out that she's being treated as a genuine love interest. Author could have easily had a tomboy basketball player that was an adult. The fact that they chose to have a middle schooler as a love-interest makes me concerned that this is gonna end up being another story cancelled because the author got arrested, like with the author of "Act-Age".

I get that, it's kind of obvious. It is not the genders that are the problem, I just don't like the idea of a college aged person entertaining the crush of a middle schooler. I'd be bothered by it even if the genders were switched, I'm not a hypocrite

So the question I ask is if he's good enough to put them into their place when comes to basketball or will it be talk no jutsu with a bit of rizzing for Yuka (& maybe the other girls involved). Except it can't really work as an honest role reversal because our MC is not a human from that world. He is someone who holds this world's cultural values, therefore he will act in accordance with what we the audience expect him to. For example, in this chapter, it's not the girl coming to HIS rescue when he is in a vulnerable situation. Also, so far the only reason why he hasn't really gone all the way with any of the girls is because he is completely unaware of how he is being seen by them. He has no clue they actually like him in a sexual way.

Likewise, a true role reversal would be just that, reversing the roles males and females play. There is a manga where a guy gets isekaid to a world where the roles are really reversed, the women are super buffed up (the ones who are not main characters anyway), the women rule, the women fight wars, and the women take on most of the jobs, while males are relegated to little more than sex objects (from what they've shown so far). This manga does not do role reversal AT ALL. That is not its purpose, that is not what the author seems to be trying to accomplish.

He doesn't need to be good though. We know he is better than Yuka, and we know the senpais are not really good since they don't practice. The only reason why Yuka is even struggling is due to all of them going playing 2 v 1 (her team mate never helps her) in multiple matches without rest.
