Kinda on the fence about how much of a failure they are as body guards though. On the one hand their zealousness and violence would make them liabilities on our world, but in their fantasy culture their proactive approach might be required due to the availability of magical abilities and skills.

While I want to condemn them for their utter failure to allow their mistress to lead as normal a life as her position allowed, the fact still remains that she is a princess with all the responsibilities and inconveniences that entails.

All in all I think it's more a failure of her perents to both regulate the zealousness of her entourage and to provide an environment for her to find equitable relationships amongst her lesser peers.

OTOH the MC is just pandering to his vices. He is a yuri fan who is trying to balence the sanctity of his ships, with his own life. While I agree it makes him less of a masculine man, I can't really fault his desire to his vices.

Somethings happen due to which he HAS to take action as they take precedence over keeping the Yuri intact. Like the next chapter and stopping the heroines from crying.

Not that your wrong, but he is trying to balance keeping himself alive and trying to act as a wingman so his ideal ships can come to fruition. OTOH he would see his actions as meaningless if he had to die to achieve his goals.
