Jesus that family is awful & I don't blame her for having to change so much to keep her sanity. Well now that the man has arrived in this yuri world, Rei is probably going to fall for him even if he's doing this to prevent her from falling deeper into depression. Thanks for the translations.

Page 8 says "A young child without parents", not sure if that's the correct translation, but she did had parents, can't remember if they "died a mysterious death" or she was just taken forcibly away from them, but she is a legit member of a branch family.

Without parents doesn't inherently mean dead parents, but she did come from the "facility" and she probably wouldn't be there if she was with her parents already, but the short answer is there is no mistake in the translation.

Though I can't recall anything about her parents being in a branch family so far, it also doesn't specifically state that she isn't from a branch either.

O . o?
Pages 9 and 10 have a woman by the door that is told to leave. She also describes the sneakers that get thrown way as something from her mom. So Rei clearly had perents, or least a mother, but was "adopted" by the main clan due to her potential.

Rei was from a branch family. In fact the other two people in page 18 are also from other branches. This is part of the latest arc in the WN, which has been in hiatus for a loooooooooong time. But hey, the author has been working hard on the LN with extra stories and fleshing out characters in the LN. No fan translation of the LN yet. :meguuusad:

This is yuri game?
More like RGG studio game

Every chapter has top art though, not just ”Im contracted to do this LN slop” art

Thanks for the chapter!

Yes I know she had parents, you kinda need them to be born lol.
I just brought attention to the confusion around the word "without" so they know it was translated correctly.
It was more about whether or not they belonged to a branch and if so has it been stated yet. (not implied)

This family basically thinks that they are Japanese royalty. I don't think any family could be this intense with image other than one that basically only exist because of their image.

lol what’s with this sudden “defiant” attitude the mc has got now? Where was all this bluster when the elves were taking over his house and basically abusing him?

MC hates himself, or rather the character that he is, but is obsessed with yuri.

So basically he's completely ok with being treated like trash (and if anything welcomes it, he tries very hard to get the heroines to lower their opinions of him), but absolutely will not stand for anything that gets in the way of yuri or makes the heroines unhappy.

Pick your battles. Do you challenge the Legendary Elf Swordmaster who has decided she's your instructor, and has to be reminded to not seriously swing with the intent to cleave you in two, or the members of your extended family, where like he said in the flashback, like it or not he is the son of the main family and any shit they give him will be returned to them many times over?

Technically she still has perents, unless they have been killed off since. Just because the main branch forcibly adopted her doesn't negate that fact either. I included you specifically because even if your defense of your translated word choice is correct, your conjecture of her previous living conditions are completely wrong.

Without parents doesn't inherently mean dead parents, but she did come from the "facility" and she probably wouldn't be there if she was with her parents already, but the short answer is there is no mistake in the translation.
The word you are looking for here is faculty, as in staff of a school or learning institution. And she was clearly there with her mother. Both were equally powerless to defy the orders of the matriarch of the main family. Page 13 reinforces that she had parents, and that all contact had been severed once delivered to main house.

So while "without perents" could technically be a correct translation, the words could also be interpreted to mean "she lacks perents to support her" which would make more sense in this context
Though I can't recall anything about her parents being in a branch family so far, it also doesn't specifically state that she isn't from a branch either.
While I can't read the raws, from your translation they imply Sei is from a mundane family. They said she was a commoner, and she would be training to to become the matriarch's successor to the Main Branch. Again there might be some contextual clues that were lost in translation.

Wow, What a shitty plot.

So they raised a heir who will take hold of the family with violent and threat and expect they will be fine when she hold power in the future ? This is beyond dumb.

Surely the head of a big family won't be so dumb like that right. It would be more reasonable if Rei was raised as a vessel for a demon or something and need to be break down mentally to make the work easier.

Yeah, this is just dumb :meguusmug:

I do agree that the translation is not wrong per se, but the wording can be confusing to some, which for them could sound like bad translation. That's what I meant.

Regarding her being part of a branch family, MC does explain that she is a "distant" relative, so they don't have strong blood ties, but it is there. So she is not some random adopted/kidnapped kid, she is a member of the family.

The Sanjou family is a family with influence, so although the old hags are essentially branch-family heads acting as mafia to control the main house (because the sole survivor is a male, that has no chance in this society [0 points])

There are two other reasons, although they could be considered spoilers (the 2nd certainly is), but they also explain why even as a male, Hiiro is still treated as the heir of the Sanjou Family (as the only son of the former heads):
Bloodline Magic - It's a special magic the Sanjou family has, and one of the reasons for its influence. Sanjou Hiiro is still the one with the most chances of inheriting this magic due to stronger Sanjou blood.
In the original Yuri game, Sanjou Rei can awaken that magic with the main heroine's help, thus she is a legit blood member of the family.
The Sanjou family has a past, and there are 3 other families.
Hiiro is from the Sanjou Family, the heirs of the other 3 families are: Rei, The woman with tatooed hands, the "doll-like" girl. All 3 appeared in this chapter.
So even those 2 extra unnamed characters that appeared in this chapter are there for a reason.
