It's the "You will suffer as I have suffered" kinda thing. To be honest, kinda hard to find anyone who can go against generational trauma. Also, Rei position is constantly being contested by the branch family. Since the main family gave birth to a most monstrous evil of this world, a BOY, it a good opportunity for the to take over the inheritance right.

Unless this was repeated on Grandma in her youth and she's just REPEATING what was done as it "brought about the best results" (some go INSANE or fear they have nothing else afterwards and so refrain from destroying the family like they most likely originally wished. Rei likely would have gone down the same path if the HEROINE hadn't saved her like in the OG story. Makes you wonder if she was STILL saved in the other routes. Otherwise OG Hiro being killed off in those routes as well assured she was the ONLY choice and succumbed (as in started the path to becoming the same as "Granny")

But seriously the old woman is good at playing everyone. Acting like she's mentoring and shit. But while she has "Favorite" if the OTHER result succeeds so be it for "the glory of the clan" (If Hiro somehow won the struggle, she appears as though she secretly WAS rooting for him, if not, then he exists as FODDER for Rei's "Development" while Rei would be prefered what with the world's weird plot hole like "misandry" namely if they don't need men for even baby rearing and can control the gender if I'm remembering straight, then "why have them PERIOD?!"

All of this is to grow her into someone that sees EVERYONE AND THING as a tool, 100% ruthlessness. What you said is a possiblity yeah, but what I stated as a counter seems to have worked out for the family that each head "uses it" (If anyone wants to spoil and correct me, be my guess, I actually want spoilers myself LOL)

Cuz she was adopted into the family, while he's the real heir by birth right. She was brought in and moulded into a perfect heir of the Sanjou family. Until she becomes perfect, there is no justification for her to replace him as an heir. As much as they don't want a male become the clan leader, birth right is still held in high regard.

Look, although amplified for drama sake, east asian families do raise children to become "perfect specimen" to showoff to relatives or aquaintances. Needless to say, the children do not experience normal childhood and would often get beat up behind close door if they disappoint their parents.

MC hates himself, or rather the character that he is, but is obsessed with yuri.

So basically he's completely ok with being treated like trash (and if anything welcomes it, he tries very hard to get the heroines to lower their opinions of him), but absolutely will not stand for anything that gets in the way of yuri or makes the heroines unhappy.

Which will be his undoing. Because the unhappiness of the heroines are likely a requirement to lead them down the yuri path that he so wants them to get into. And if he helps them avoid their sadness, then he's altering the original path and making them thankful to him, to which his attitude will just be seen as him being tsun tsun, while him saving them is dere dere.

And being a tsundere is a typical romcom setup of which he's just guaranteeing that he destroys his Yuri heaven to replace it with a box standard Harem.

He's going to have to learn to choose. Either he gets the girls by saving them. Or he lets them suffer so the girls can get each other.

In just the last chapter it was considered basically social taboo to be seen out in the streets with a man as a woman's partner

I had assumed there was some sort of glorious yuri way to produce a child, but it seems like straight procreation is still required.

Although, since men are never in the picture even with matters of the heir in play, you have to wonder just how low, objectifying, and inconsequential their position is in society when they aren't even allowed love

I wonder if this is a point that will be made with the original MC, since being a womanizer in a world which so heavily rejects men's right to love is kind of interesting to dissect

I think the point is that the way the family is treating her is a representation of toxic male masculinity. Trauma builds a strong man, hide your emotions, always act tough etc. but you could also say since she’s not a heir by blood they’re treating her like garbage because they’ll just use her as a puppet in the future.

I agree, I honestly think the best way we’re gonna see how men are treated in society in this world is probably once the mc starts going to school. School is a good way to show that since there are social hierarchy’s at school which can represent aspects of the real world plus be overly exaggerated.

You gotta remember this is a Yuri world, and Hiro is supposed to be a supporting character that is supposed to follow its path. However, since our Mc was reincarnated into this world, it kinda following the Yuri game path even tho the mc is changing things.
