I thought I recognised the art style, it's the artist who finished their adaptation of Maou Maouyuu Yuusha and the designer of Lancer Arthuria from Fate Grand Order.

Man, this is already so good.

The intetview style is very unique storytelling, haven't seen that before.

Sword Saint guy is kinda arrogant, but you can tell that he definitely respects the Hero. The mothafucka simply refuses to die.

Now I'm really intruiged as to who has killed Ares.
If you like this interview style and dont mind web novels as well, Interviewing Leather is a great novel.

The Demon Lord is Suing the Hero isn’t quite as good, but has a similar tone.

can you spoil me ? I don't care about spoiler anyway.
Ares is dead, but the one we see interact with the three ever since the beginning was not Ares at all. It was his cousin Zack who was like a brother to him. Ares has already died before even getting to the capital. Zack impersonated Ares to honor his memory and make him the legend he was meant to be.

It was revealed that Zack begged the three to hide the fact that the real Hero had died and make up a false story about the Hero dying after his glorious victory vs the Demon King. The three initially disagreed because at that point they truly trusted each other very much and was even prepared to support Zack once he became King, but Zack insisted that he was never the real hero in the first place. After giving back Ares' sword to Ares' mother, Zack moved away to live a slow life in a faraway village.

BTW, the one interviewing everyone is the Princess I think, as she was looking for Zack all this time.

Thanks for the info Although I don't know whether I want a sequel about his life after that or not

I skimmed the next volume a bit and it seems like Zack isn't mentioned except for little tiny snippets.
The story focuses on another hero team before Zack's party.

Intriguing concept and well executed thus far. Definitely keeping an eye on this one!

Based on Sword-Saint/Kensei's testimony (we have no idea whether he's telling the truth or not, but I'm going to lean towards yes because he's the best source we have so far), a guy like Ares would be "destined to die" because of his own nature - he'd pick bigger and more unwinnable fights until he'd finally commit a mistake he couldn't recover from, and that would be it. As the Norns would describe it:
"There is no destiny. There is no grand design, no script, only the choices you make. That your choices are so predictable merely make us seem prescient."

Remind me of World War Z style interview
I thought the same thing! I just read the LN on Kindle and the first part is totally like that... But then there's a big plot twist and... Well, its a good story! Lots of "unreliable narrator" stuff going on too so you have to read between the lines.
