Damn, I do feel bad for the author when his reading his afternotes. It is easy to look at someone who's more successful than you and feel resentful about yourself, wondering what went wrong.

He shouldn't have said that. I respect artistic works which have pre-planning and a definite ending from the oneset. I don't respect artistic works which are like, "might as well keep going since people are buying"

The author thought it would only last a couple volumes, planned an end point...and just kind of had to keep winging it as the cycle (expecting publisher to say it has to end by x chapter but instead they asked for more) continued.

Absolutely. She's the prize of the series. She's the mega-cute classic (small-breasted) tomboy. Most "tomboys" are drawn with H cups now which doesn't seem like a tomboy to me at all.

I will not tolerate this slander. Tomboys come in all shapes and sizes.

One of the primary jobs of an editor is to not let a mangaka end a profitable series until it's been milked into mediocrity.
