Obvious connection: He couldn't actually see the food, he could only see its form. Also, the perspective character this time's eyes are very square, and the employee always has their eyes shut.
Not sure what to make of the old man, though. Maybe this connects to Ch3, which was also about human (parts) being inside someone? But this one is less inexplicable, as we can probably assume that the old man got there due to PC eating the food and such. Like it someone reconstructed into this person in his stomach.
Something else interesting, though, is that this is the first chapter to not really feel "alive" at all. The others all felt like they were saying something about the characters involved, and they implied that what was happening was happening for a reason, even if that reason was something totally incomprehensible. But this one almost just feels like a joke of some sort. It feels very disconnected from everything prior.
Also interesting how Komori didn't say anything this time. I wonder if he died like he said he would at the end of the last chapter?
