But one thing i dont get is how taisai seikun was shown using a bunch of techniques to curbstomp the graduates during his boss fight, yet here hes being portrayed as just throwing around massive amounts of spiritual power like some brute.

Im probably just missing something about how the whole system works, but the difference in his portrayed fighting style still feels strange

On page 27, panel 1 when Yayoi was rushing towards Mamoru, she quickly threw the knife upwards. It was a minor detail, I was confused where it came from at first.

hes still weak, one star seems to be all he can manage to have at once right now while during the graduates he had no issue having half a dozen of them orbiting him

In chapter 61 we get a basic understanding about how they works. We can say that he is weakened, that is true. However, some techniques are defensive, meanwhile we see Mamoru did not get too aggressive so they were not useful (like Curse reflection, Invisible, Hiko defense). Taisai did use Defense by his legs and Foresight when Mamoru got up close and personal though.

He is currently weakened and sealed with the headband. From what the replaced girl is saying, being in Ai's body might have an effect on his spiritual control. With this combination, I think Taisai doesn't have as much precise control of his power compared to when he fights Yayoi. Besides, Oobashi never uses any technique, only precise control of spiritual power to dismantle Taisai Alkaid, which cannot be countered or defended against.

apparently those techniques were not refined to molecular level and their weaknesses were made up by Taisai God level power. Yeah it's a new concept for sure.
