Ignoring people's personal motivations in a job where the large chunk of your forces are made up out of the people out to save or avenge their loved ones is stupid. That's exactly how you end up with your group turning into a rigid mass of the unflinching hardasses that will slowly crack apart due to the intepersonal conflict.

Having Yayoi understand Tsuzura and work together is massively important from the in-universe PoV. Oboshi absolutely did the right thing, both as a human and as a leader.

The point was that she doesn't want to, and wanted to stubbornly do things her own way. Oboss showing her Yuhei's circumstances would lead Yayoi to symphatize due to their similar backgrounds, and in turn be more willing to accept Yuhei's aassistance in the future.

Furthermore, this also tied up with what Oboss was originally worried about, which is Yayoi's willingness to do reckless things as long as her circle of friends are safe. His idea was to slowly expand said circle to eventually include all of humanity, so even if Yayoi does end up doing reckless things in the future, she wouldn't williingly put anyone in danger because of it.

Wow, very interesting chapter and finally some character growth for Yayoi . The recents arcs have been painful because she has been so obnoxious and pain in the ass that makes me angry at her. I hope the author continues to improve her.

Interesting things:

• Keitaro’s hand was mentioned after a lifetime, which is great. I really want to see him shine as much as Abe no Seimei expected. Cheering for him!
• Tsuzura really got a sad story. Tough to judge him when all he wants is to save his family and people in the village. I am glad he managed to become a top spiritualist.
• Regarding the device in Yayoi’s house, there are 72 spots as someone here noted, and 72 is a very special number in occultism and Kabbalah. 72 is derived from Tetragrammaton, the name of God in 4 hebraical letters, which lead of a permutation of 12 combinations, and each combination can be permuted 6 times; thus landing into the 72 names of God. There are 72 names of God, the Shemhamphorasch, that can be invoked and have their 72 corresponding angelic names. There are 72 demons that Solomon had in his control, which are the ones that appear in the Ars Goetia. Also, the angles inside the pentagram have 72 degrees.

If that egg truly is connected to whatever is supposed to allow Yayoi to get her ghosts to obey her rather than attempt to kill her, it's nice that Oboss has confidence she will succeed in passing the trial by giving her an alter that will help said egg hatch.
