Well, this is what happens when you use a ghost that’s above the level allowed by the badges you have

Ya, this samurai is a diminished strength and he is still that cracked and cracked out of his mind to attempt to finish what D Temple started by wiping out the gang permanently. Yayoi needs to win that badge now more than ever.

Its the little details the author put in their art that makes these fights feel so animated despite being in manga form , wonderfully crafted.
Lowkey waaaay better fight scenes that lot of top shounen slops nowadays.
Instead of flashy 1 whole page still screen , the fights here are choreographed with many details.
But enough gushing , i wonder if Keitaro finally gonna go train and be an exorcist too…

but she probably realized that she's way out of her depth when it comes to proper exorcism knowledge and techniques, so she ends up acting cold or hostile towards them in response.

She admitted as much as she was running to put some distance between her and D temple. The miko had her on the backfoot with the hit and run tactics. And since her strategy when it things devolve into a ghost pokemon fight is to analysis the enemy and release a hard counter against them, it falls apart when the enemy uses spiritualist techniques she has no true knowledge about combined with great cunning. That is Yayoi's hard counter. Doesn't hurt she tends to have great luck on her side too. It's how she beat Taisei speaking of, not every spirit she meets will be like him who operate with the Goku mentality of wanting a good fight. Instead of just killing her outright from the start. Best she learns that now.

Well she is going to need to train more to seal the samurai properly since he is getting stronger and stronger. one day he will be powerful enough to fight a god.
could someone remind me if some ghosts are outright refusing hurting people? i don't remember if there is any of that kind in this manga.

I think those ghosts would just peacefully move on after their energy runs out, the ones that still linger around are the type that ate other ghosts and then human souls so they can remain in the mortal world.

Wow she really lost her cool there - I think that's a first in the series.

Still, the barrier guy was right - she is/was absolutely outclassed. The Samurai made it worse, not better. Yes he's the reason they didn't die immediately, but without intervention he would've been the reason they died shortly.

It's incredible that they haven't been this beat down before considering they went to way harder ghost spots rank-wise

Yayoi never panicked because she assumed ghosts were predictable and poor strategists, allowing her to bring any situation under her control.

The priestess was clever and wanted to toy with prey rather than eat it. Losing in a battle of wits made her realize she had been gambling other people's lives rather than taking them on scary but survivable trips.

The miko was also the first ghost with a playful side. Swapping or hiding tanden instead of consuming them were irrational and tactically unsound moves, but wound up wrecking Yayoi's hyper logical defense-centered strategies.

Lastly, this chapter came with an interview with the anime's Character Designer/Chief Animation Director Ichinose Yuri. One of the questions is about which character was the toughest one for his job, and their answer was Shuten Douji with his sense of style.

I highlight this because if he's talking about bringing Shuten Douji to life, this pretty much confirms that Season 2 will be 2 cours for the complete Kyoto Arc experience!
Would you happen to know any of the other questions that were asked?

This is the first time she's not in complete control of the situation, and she's getting called for it. Despite her intelect, she's still little children, so lashing out like this was expected tbf.
An adult Yayoi would have the  same outburst, but it would get pegged as 'NARCISSTIC RAGE' rather than a simple tantrum. Her huge ego and sense of confidence stem from her abilities as a strategist. Losing a battle of cunning, being a damsel in distress rather than a savior... of course she's going to fly off the handle.

Didn't think she would/could fly off the handle like that? But great chapter as always.
Her massive ego and self confidence were being justified by her being an unbeatable strategist. The Miko won every round of the battle of cunning. Yayoi is more than a bit narcissistic, so her having a violent emotional outburst over a loss is very much in character.

I do indeed, but honestly nothing else is particularly explosive. Transliterating here:

1. Tell us about your job as Character Designer and Chief Animation Director
The former is about producing blueprints for the characters, so that the many animators in the team have a unified direction to work towards; the latter is to confirm and unify all the (animation) layouts produced.

2. I see you were a Character Designer in Season 1 too
Ichinose did characters like Anna, Dorothy, Oswald, etc. For Season 2 though, they'll be more involved with the designs of the main cast and is quite conscious of reflecting their designs in the source material.

3. Please tell us about the designs for the biggest foe of the Kyoto Arc, Taisui Xingjun
Mostly about how Tai Sui's design needs some redrawing. Not that the current one was disliked, but can be edited to be closer to the source. Wants to pay attention to the hair too.

4. I see that Yayoi, Keitarou and Eiko will all develop, but are there any points you wish to highlight?
They've all been refined somewhat and will feel a bit different from Season 1, look forward to it. More care's been taken with Eiko's expressions too.

5. Please tell us about the toughest character you've been assigned with
Shuten Douji was tough, since he's the "stylish" type of character and has to be balanced properly to keep his coolness from the source. Has to pay attention to his body proportions too.

6. Please tell us if you've any characters you like
They like the female characters and is into how they're drawn: Yayoi and Eiko are naturally eyecatching, and Shami-san's disciple-hopeful (from Ch 51) has a cute design.

7. Since the horror visual for A Dam was unveiled this time, is there anything about its production you can tell us?
Much focus was placed on the A Dam Ghost's form to bring across its creepiness, but Ichinose personally loves the silly couple and how cute they are amidst the horror (LOL).

8. Might I ask about any impression-making moments with author Kondo Kenichi?
Ichinose often has questions during their design work, and they're very grateful that Kondo always responds with politeness and sincerity amidst his busy-ness. Feels that Kondo is particular with his designs, puts attention to small details and unseen aspects.

9. Lastly, any messages to readers looking forward to Season 2's broadcast?
I'm sure all readers had a feeling, but when I heard Season 2 was confirmed I remembered being really happy. I think of this product as blending in all kinds of emotions every week: horror goes without saying, but also laughter and deep-cutting feelings. This season will be rich with content, so you can look forward to it.

As a bonus, this issue also came with an explanation meant to catch readers up to speed with the current Tokyo Suppression Arc

I think Seimei took them back after he stopped possessing his body, no way he can control them without Seimei backing him up anyway since they are divine class shikigami.
