That at least is no different then any other spirit I guess? Presumably the ring is a sort of pretty high level conceptual weapon, forcing a specific curse of some sort of "breaking the core that pumps their life force" idea onto anything at all that has a name. Whether the "heart" is physical or spiritual doesn't matter, it's a spirit curse anyway. It'd be interesting if it didn't work on, I dunno, a "ghost tree" or something, but any being with a form/concept/foundation of a human or animal perhaps has a "heart" as well, even a god (at least when the god is taking on the form of a person).

Anyway they're sure leaping right into it. Hell of a challenge escalation, and of course there are various other factions around on top.

Very clever, Yayoi only asks god his name so she can use the curse ring, she never care that much about his identity in the first place anyway. And Yayoi also intends to use the Sergent and Oiran one by one which make sense because using them both together only result in they weaken each other as well
