For anyone wondering, on the last page Kaname probably used the more common word for train, densha (電車).
But take a look at the kanji.
The first one is actually the one for electricity, as the word is technically referring to electric trains, even if gets used/translated as referring to trains in general.
So that's why penguin army guy corrected Kaname, and why Kaname's dialogue sounded kinda stiff.
If I were to guess as to why this language phenomena happens, I guess there's just not that many non-electric passenger trains for the other words to see much use?
