Actually it was a good thing for them that it was the Parrot plus that gave them more knowledge about D-Game and gives the reader a little sense of mystery(It could be simply the parrot or someone controlling him, you never know) plus Kaname is having a bit of a problem that could cost him his life.
Overall it was a Good chapter ?
I had a feeling that it was the parrot, but I thought it more as a joke than actuality. It makes sense, though, looking back on the island hunting event.
@gaigous As I recall, there was one series that briefly touched upon it quite well (I think it was actually X-Men...)-- there was one character that could manipulate water and ice, except, when he was mindcontrolled by somebody a lot more experienced, it came out that his actual ability is the free manipulation of the energy states of matter. He was just so bad at using his power that all he could do was freeze water (or water in stuff). Or something like that.
Feels like these last few chapters were absolutely pointless, i'm sure this whole re-emphasis on animals using sigils will come up later so they were probably just getting the readers in tune.... Still such a waste of time.
@gaigous, @Harvester, this conversation reminds me of some spoiler i stumbled upon about violent usage of a simple "harmless" water spell in Goblin Slayer.
The Priestess managed to learn "Water Purify" spell.
In a hectic of a Goblin Raid, she accidentally cast the spell on some goblins.
Said goblins ended up dead horrifically because all the water-comprised liquids in their body got purified of anything but water.
Can't believe I'm correct with the parrot lol.
Water manipulation is always op if you got the imagination for it. Same for almost all the powers in this manga, its how they use it (imagine it) that makes some of it appear weak but actually really strong if use correctly.
The feeling that the author makes up the story as they write just keeps getting stronger.
Amazingly, it hasn't ever been horrible, just sometimes kinda poor.
