This series is interesting, but it is paced so strangely. I can't exactly put my finger on how, but it's like this manga is a someone's recollection of a story they read years ago told to an artist and put to paper.

I think that has to with how the chapters have been released to be honest. Only until recently did we start getting full chapters whereas before each chapter was split into parts.

They unknowingly pushed her to take initiative. Epic. Whatever the pacing is, I’m all in for it. I have read too many mangas/manhwas where the fmc gets indecisive and accidentally sides with the losing male character instead of the MC then fight over her, because of drama’s sake. Etc

Well, I'm with others. I can't complain when Ayame finally took a stance instead of being wishy washy about her mission. I wonder if they'll make her a target as well for not only refusing to kill Murai but also going against their client protecting him. And how or if her "brother" will proceed with the mission. Well, they are assassins. There aren't any good people in this manga.
