Seems like Soprano is pushing herself to be someone she isn't in order to impress Mirei. Her talking about how much she hates her past self, right after the sister talks about the importance of acknowledging where you started, highlights that this isn't going to be a healthy approach for her (at least not long term).

Now the question is, did Soprano arrive at this idea on her own, was it inspired by the modeling industry, or did someone specific put it in her head?
