One of the things I liked about this manga is precisely the fact that the MC isn’t surrounded only by female friends. The vast majority of manga out there always follow the same pattern: one guy and a bunch of strong women who become his friends. But, as you pointed out, I also hope this manga isn’t BL. If it is, that would be really frustrating. Still, I don’t think that’s the case, since in Japan they usually make clear distinctions about these things. If it were BL, it would have already been labeled as such in the manga. At most, there might be some supporting character who is BL, and even then, it doesn’t usually get much focus in the story.
