@unime what comes to my mind is our current period. Think about this, a couple who love one another too much and cherish their love but procreation is risky. They go to many doctors and continue receiving the same reply. The wife can't have a normal and "secure" pregnancy [obviously it is always a risk but it is low compared to some women]. The wife still insists on wanting the child. Some husbands just won't accept it and will argue trying to convince their wives about adoption. The problem is that adoption will never provide the maternal instincts, problems, love, and nourishment that a pregnant woman feels when carrying the child for 9 months.
There is no technology that could help a woman experience it. Yes, you can experience much more when the child is born already but is it not the same? I think. for more details go as a mother. The woman decided to go to the doctor and talk about it and just say that she agrees with a high-risk pregnancy and get pregnant. Sometimes, some women just die in the OP or survive but have to be in the hospital for weeks to get better.
Now, bring this problem to this story. No one considered the creation of a new life born from a spirit/god and a mortal to be possible. It is 99.9% impossible so when the spirit was asked for some of his mana he thought his lover wanted it for her to increase her magic and become a magician of a higher level. She got other plans. He was going to be against this idea and probably stop her pregnancy to save her life. That would have killed her because she wouldn't want her baby to die. That is why she calls herself greedy or selfish. She wants to have a token/proof that says how much she loved the spirit. I
The idea of "giving up her life to creating a new life" looks plausible. Maybe she is not dead but is under a spell. we don't know yet?
I hate how most guys just don't understand that the women they loved want to have a new life that would have a part of her and his. They just go for, let me kill that abomination !!! all the hard work and sacrifice of the other party just became a waste lol.
I am pretty much many will hate me saying this but hope he never gets to love her until the very end so he would regret it. I don't mind her forgiving him and treat him like normal but would want her to see her father as a stranger so that way he could regret it lol. I want the mother to show up and be the bridge to let those two connect and love each other :< only them I will be fine loving one another father and daughter.

That's a very in depth view of the situation. I was only curious about why it seemed like she didn't talk to him about her desire for a child? But your explanation gives some insight. It is most likely as you've stated, that a mortal and spirit can't birth a child, so she had to use other means. I just feel so bad for the child, because, although the child was wanted, the poor babe doesn't know it, and won't know it. D: I hope there's a good adoptive family that come along. I really hope that's where the story goes.

There are letters so she will know once she gets older. She w a s loved by the mother but the father will hate her very much. Which socks cuz it was the mother's fault.

Nah she doesn't get a pass. She was selfish and manipulative to her supposed love. She more seems like she was just obsessed with having his baby than actually loving him. Because she was more worried about HER happiness than the happiness of her lover.
Babies don't make everyone happy and having one doesn't make you a magically better person. Nor does it negate the messed up shit you did.

What a freaking psychopath. Daughter dodged a bullet not having to be raised by someone that insane and unbalanced. Hope she burns eternally in hell, what a horrible thing to do to two people she says she loves, while obviously having no clue what actual love is.
Incredibly selfish, stupid, and completely divorced from reality. Saddest thing is that there are people out there that would do something like this, or somehow approve of someone doing it. Humans are pretty messed up. This isn't a story about love, it's a story about a psychotic selfish obsession and willingness to hurt other people just to get whatever psychotic goal you've set your mind on.

Seriously? Getting a child on purpose when knowing your partner doesn’t want to is abuse in some countries if I’m correct.
Poor guy... I understand him fully for not wanting to to raise his daughter but going so far as to try and kill her is not okay.

To say nothing of being phenomenally unethical, to call that "overwhelmingly loving each other," is so sick and twisted. It's like saying that a thief's love for someone else's belongings is a heartwarming and true love.
I don't care how much you want a child, you don't get to force that on someone else. End of story.
