...Why wasn't he wearing his cleats? Literally zero reason for that "tension" and "drama".

@comeonnow0 on the second to last page of the previous chapter Kameyama accidentally steps on his cleat, that’s probably why

Will he score? Doesn't look like anyone will be able to catch him but then again this manga has some strange moments.

I see there's no referee in this game. Narukami can play without a cleat and it's allowed, might as well someone just kill his career right there eh?

There's no ref stopping anyway.

@Duckiedoggo
why would having one cleat off be any reason to stop the game?
and where do you see anything worthy of the ref stepping in? everything so far has been fair game and no fouls were commited.

@stonefinger because that's not allowed, duh. The player are prone to injuries from tackle, from body contact, etc.

and where do i see anything worthy of the ref stepping in? When the cleats are off, duh.

also FIFA's rule on equipment :

"A player whose footwear or shinguard is lost accidentally must replace it as
soon as possible and no later than when the ball next goes out of play;
if before doing so the player plays the ball and/or scores a goal, the goal is
awarded. "

@duckiedoggo have you ever played the game? No ref would stop that play unless (like you pointed out) the ball leaves the field of play.

The ball never went out so the ref doesn’t really have to stop the game because a player lost his shoe, especially in a counter attack.
