Oh wow the axe fell fast.
Not sure if bias, but feels like there’s a surge of shueisha stories like this that are pretty high quality (art, concept) but lacking “heart” and failing to capture sustained emotional interest then get axed fast like Fabricant 100 and Skeleton Double. Like throw a bunch of formulaic stories and see what sticks. Other newish ongoing stuff like Kagurabachi, Astro Baby, Shoujo Null, Tsubame, Mikane, Wild Strawberry etc.

This happens if it did not start as a web novel. Better build the plot as a web novel first.
