Fun fact: In medieval Europe, it was quite common for a lower-class house to only have a single large bed shared by the entire family, located in the center of the house (i.e. farthest from any drafts, since the exterior walls were often poorly insulated). Parents, children, and even guests would all sleep in the same bed.

Since they don't even start thinking that he's romantically involved with them, MC usually gives the impression of a saintly person who takes care of all these unfortunates.
I guess if MC wasn't as skilled at getting along with people, he might look like a leader of a band of dangerous mercenaries.

I think the only time the WN mentioned outsiders considering MC's mobile orphanage to be a harem, is with the lolicon Hero. But that might be because he is also an otherworlder.

Who is the "new girl"? Lady Karina has been with them for a while already.
Do you mean Ringarde, the granddaughter of duke Oyugock? She might be less important than the duke by aristocratic rules, but as a member of the Hero's party, her influence is higher than that of nobility. Also, she can take on everyone in the room, except Satou, all at once. So yes, she can waltz in to the audience and tell the duke to stop provoking Satou and risking his life.

Did you forget that the first person to help Satou in this world is a kick ass female knight? There have been strong women in this story, and many others like it, since the very beginning. They're an expected trope in many forms of manga. It's not politics, it's entertainment. Is this the only one you have ever read?
