I see how the author used the tunnel for comedic purposes and to set up him using his weakening inability. However, some chapters back when they first dug that tunnel that thing was big enough for people to stand up in with room to spare. A little bit inconsistent here just for this gag.

I'm happy the daughter is back safe with her mom. But now what? Do they both run off with the men they love? Most likely no.
