I always feel just like him, I have no idea what the hell is going on whenever I am reading this manga, but I enjoy the ride.
maybe one thing manga superior compared to LN lol, in LN Tahara monologue at last made reader get gist what going on but the manga left or make vague so the reader can feel what Kunai feel :ROFLMAO:

They cut dialogue between suneo and edogawa ambassadors. It was a fun scene,go read ln
yeah, one of best scene but the manga seems focus more on Kunai unlike LN who spread its PoV after all

Yeah. Yeah... That's right.
ah yeah this guys also exist :ROFLMAO:, thought in his case its more for some reason disaster/trouble always follow him rather got 4d chessed by your subordinate. i mean almost everything that happen always coincidence where right(wrong) person at wrong(right) time

Demon Lord Retry is like Overlord, but without pointless genocide in the name of "peace" that low self-esteem unfulfilled edgelords wank to.
Prove me wrong.

Thanks for scanlation!
hard to unapprove since what you said is true, Hakuto Kunai before Akira Ono take over is evil minister with demon lord as nickname and always massacre anyone that stood in his way, after merge Akira personality was the main unlike true Hakuto he not evil and his subordinate not all like that, if i not remember wrong almost half not really chaotic evil if compared to almost all Ainz subordinate (this not to mention all of them is inhuman creature), there also how Akira saying to Yuu and Tahara tha he going to opposite side direction what old empire(his country origin) take

Probably because he knows it's not really a game, although there's far more similarities than Overlord has, from characters looking a like people he met to everything else like in Log Horizon.

But here we see a reasonable version where "this is not a game, those are people", while in Overlord it's like "sure, that's like a real world but let's continue from my last save game lulz" and it somehow works.

I said it once and ill say it again-kunai is a benevelent ainz. Both are clueless, both have hyper confident subordinates and both are taking over the world. and im happily eating every second of it.
That is the reason i dropped overlord, and i am on the verge of dropping this one as well.

Can anyone spoil me on the LN? does this get any worse?

in what way worse parameter we talking about ? if we talking about misunderstanding troupe, cant really say it getting worse except there new girl from LN that misunderstood Kunai as someone with (not)japan imperial family blood cause his new summoned assistant had background of imperial noble blood

Thank you for the spoilers.
Worse in the sense that all(ALL) the new events are being planned by the subjects based on what they think their master is thinking, while he fails to communicate what he wants. But i would like it if they stop doing that at all.

in that sense in this one misunderstanding actually result in great result for populace since unlike in Overload who tried to much being edgy(some people prefer to call its dark 😅) like the one with sheep(human) farm this one always end up being in better goodment of populace than what Akira hope for, the bad thing only happen to the vile (i mean the cartonis evil guy type) and in last translated LN Akira pretty much scrap his adjutant plan for the war cause he realize donna owning several sex slave child and their fate getting worse in every minute since that donna lend the slave to his allies to be used, the original plan actually going for longer play since they going to round up them in one sweep but the slave girls made Akira reminded of Aku when he first met her
other example the one get skipped in manga(dunno if the artist will put in here or not in future chapter but tahara already mentioned it in this chapter) there negotiation with two representative from two different country which both got saved by Akira, Tahara deal with them in negotiation table for "payment" since Akira pretty much save their ass, the end result pretty much win-win for both side (with Maou side getting much more from this thought only Tahara who realize the actual result from what Akira unconsciously did )

Fuew12 already said, but to reiterate, the genocides aren't pointless in the big picture because they are a plot device to make Nazarick truly look like a den of inhuman monsters who think nothing of life or death (aside from their own). That's also why Ainz, being a human gamer inside the skeletor body, is so terrified of ever being found out by his own underlings. Thus he has no choice, in his own opinion at least, but to keep up the theater of appearing like the omnipotent mastermind. That would be pointless if the folks around him weren't so demonic. All that being said, while the theater has offered some good jokes, I'm not a huge fan of all the evil.

At least in this series the underlings don't appear to be so uncaring about everything but themselves. They are all quite human. The otherworlders are very few in numbers and most of Kunai's people (in the village, or more like a town) are locals. He also associates with lots of locals elsewhere, like White. His underlings also don't despise the locals, unlike the Nazarick monsters (with few exceptions).

Yeah, but it served a purpose in Yggdrasil game, that world ain't a game in any aspect.
In the game each side had benefits of their alignment and drawbacks, something like in a Fallout game where "bad karma character" had some benefits while talking to the bad guys and vice versa.

If they were supposed to be a genuinely evil faction in the game, wouldn't be be strange if they weren't evil when it's not a game anymore? Many human players can afford to be evil in a game, although I'd say most players might not really enjoy it that much before long, but when it's not a game anymore, the majority might find it distasteful. Not saying there wouldn't be evil people who'd like it. The person inside Ainz, whatever was his name, wasn't evil, if memory serves; he was just a salaryman. But he's a weak-willed coward, so he will always go along with it. Kunai here doesn't have similar pressure to nearly the same level. I reckon he's mostly just too embarrassed to admit he can't follow the underlings' plans.

If memory serves me right, they were two factions typical "mob" like players (similar to Horde) and normal humans (similar to Alliance) and other tend to hunt them, so they joined up to form a guild.

Since there's no game restrictions, it's dumb to follow rules that don't exist, the NPC were "born evil to be evil" that's very illogical to follow now, there's little progress in that matter. Introducing elves to crossdressing duo had little impact on them.

Agreed on the second part, Ainz is rightfully afraid of own subordinates to turn on him, remember he almost spent most of episode to prepare for battle with that vampire loli.
