One of the twins where already dead and her soul was in the lake what made all lotus whither. So the one MC summoned was one of the twinsisters looking for her other sister. In the end the demon spirit twin died which then made the lotus flowers to bloom again on the lake and sisters where reunited. That is what I have understood.
