I'd like to apologize for the low quality. I wouldn't have done this, but given how unlikely it was for this series to get an English translation, and given the fact that I just had this lying around, I felt it would be better to just share this.

Also, I'm sorta confused on the ending. I have no idea who the hell the dude on the last page is supposed to be. I find it hard to believe it's not Fujio, but given what happened to him, it should be the serial killer. But then why the hell would you show the scene of the chairs in the prison like Yoko was going to visit? Why would Yoko visit some rando serial killer?
It doesn't help their hairstyles look similar.
I was hoping someone could help clarify this.

I think Fujio might've been the serial killer the whole time? It really didn't suit his character but he was a schizo anyways. If he's not, then a lot of things went unexplained instead of just being in the subtext.

But like then who was the other dude?

No, if he was the murderer, he would be sentenced to death

The guy who stabbed Fujio was the actual serial killer with the prosthetic finger from chapter 28 that the cops were looking for, who seems to have a thing for killing popular people. Fujio only killed his old partner-turned-enemy, Eisuke. The cops thought Fujio killed the other victims, but he didn't.

So who was the guy in the last panel?

Confusing series all around, all of this mangaka's works feel like they are skipping ahead pages and just leaving you to fill it in yourself.

Even through this garbage MTL, I was able to not be confused. I don't know what the fuck the rest of you are doing. The end obviously shows Fujio is in jail for the one murder that he committed (justifiably but unfortunately Japan doesn't have jury nullification). The thrice-and-fourth-attempted serial killer was obviously arrested after stabbing a guy in front of a bunch of cops. His fate was not shown because it is obvious. (He is either in jail awaiting trial, in prison for life, or executed.) Also, they do not look similar! And assuming it wasn't a mistranslation, Fujio's “death” was merely metaphorical. Did I cover everything?

As for what I thought about the series, it definitely would've been more intresting if his murder wasn't completely justifiable, but I don't hate that it was. No followup/closure with the dark-haired love intrest is 💩 tho. Also in the middle we really started following the cops a bunch and then we jumped back to not following them at all. Very strange. Could've been expanded more (or less). Despite being fine with not seeing his end, not explaining why the serial killer was serial-killing is a huge hole. That was the biggest background piece of the story. Maybe the explanation was lost in dogshit translation tho. I certainly care more about these characters than most of the Fool Night ones tho. Mmmmmm with a better good translation, worth reading, sure. It's not long.

Half of me thinks Fujio was actually killed, cuz without that the serial killing plot would be open.
Other half thinks Fujio's death was metaphorical, and the hand written letter was probably sent from him from jail cuz he probably has only a radio and no phone.
Either way, you can see the ending as tragic or happy-ish. He died right after achieving his dream, or his guilt, built up stress and disappointment got "killed" after he did his one last fight before turning in.
