I'm not sure I've actually seen any game that has areas in that way. First area, sure. Town, and areas around. But after that it tends to go to a different town and do it again, rather than having another circle around it. I mean, sometimes there are more areas outside the first ones, but not so circular. You also probably wouldn't have two forests and two plains, but something else instead.

This, "I've never heard of that, let's pick it," mentality is kind of unusual for gamers. Explorers, yes, but most others would try to look up if there's any info to be found.
