You need a mirror.
You start out by saying "Actually, everything is a waste of time."
I did not. Read my post again. Slowly.
My words were: "
if thing A is a waste of time, then there must exist a thing B that isn't." Setting aside whether you agree with that statement or not (I'll simply assume you do), can you quote the part where I claim that thing B doesn't exist?
You can't, because as you so cleverly noted:
Then go on to talk about how you believe rest and relaxation isn't a waste of time.
Technically, I went on to propose something that people might objectively agree is said thing B, namely "work". This then served as my basis for claiming that rest and relaxation, and by extension games, aren't a waste of time.
You see, the least you could do when claiming to be "objectively and inarguably correct" is to define what does or doesn't constitute a waste of time.
That said, your choice of the word "believe" implies you disagree with my statement that rest and relaxation isn't a waste of time. Here's a
source to back up my claim:
The truth is, rest and relaxation are vital to well-being. Chronic stress negatively affects nearly every aspect of mental and physical health, even contributing to
higher risks for chronic disease and
premature death.
I don't know about you, but "premature death" sounds like the biggest waste of time there is. After all, you're literally throwing away everything you've learned and experienced, as well as everything you could've potentially produced, achieved, or left behind.
And where do you see a contradiction?
- games are a subset of rest and relaxation
- rest and relaxation isn't a waste of time
- games aren't a waste of time
If A (games) is B (rest and relaxation), and B (rest and relaxation) is C (not a waste of time), then A (games) is also C (not a waste of time).
It's called transitivity, something most people learn around the age of 12. It's literally basic logic.
followed by empty, thoughtless words.
Those who live in glass houses... I'm sure you know the rest.
We know from her conversation with her mother that she is neglecting the responsibilities everyone is born with,
Which are...?
I'll leave this as an exercise to you, lest you accuse me of being confused again. At least
try and put some substance and thoughts into your words.
and she even agrees if you keep reading the updates.
So?
According to the reaction scores here, 100% of people who reacted to our posts disagree with you and agree with me. But to say that is proof of anything would be an
argumentum ad populum.
Regardless of whether she does or doesn't agree, surely you can do better than "these random fictional characters said so, therefore it's true", yes?
And before you argue that Bianca isn't a "random character", she's hardly an authority on "objective wastes of time". We don't even see any of her reasoning beyond "
you get really busy when you grow up", which is true, but irrelevant. Having other priorities does not make something a waste of time. Just because someone prioritizes money and survival doesn't mean marrying and having kids is a waste of time, after all.
Saying everything is a waste of time is comical but it is also just agreeing with the gossip girls and the mother that gaming is a waste of time.
True, but the premise is flawed, as I explained earlier.
Thank you for agreeing that they are objectively and inarguably correct.
Thank you for contributing nothing meaningful whatsoever to this argument. I hope you do better next time.
