Their relationship is strained cause Crim’s mom seemingly vanished after elementary school, as if she abandoned Crim. However the reason for this was she was focused on fixing Crim’s issue in the real world. Later, after Crim is able to log out and discovers the change that happened to them, Crim aka Kou meets her mom again. Amari explains that she is a vampire and that magic exist. That the reason Amari was gone from Kou’s life was to develop the Cradle that was meant to fix Kou’s body. And why this results in Kou being a proper half-vampire girl. When Kou was still supposedly a human boy, years ago, due to vampiric instincts Kou tried to take blood from Hijiri. However because lacking the vampire fangs needed for that it result in a very bad bite scar that was left on Hijiri to this day. It is also the source of Kou’s blood trauma and the vegan diet.
Kou starts working on the diet part by slowly eating meat again but the blood trauma still makes it difficult. Incidentally, Kou is only able to feed off Hijiri’s blood without the trauma kicking in.
Kou and her mom reconcile their relationship, however because Amari is a representative of the NTEC company and her dad also works there, the two are workaholics, so Kou still worries they are not taking breaks or days off. Despite the reconciled relationship, Kou still hates a particular thing about her mom, which is her mom planning stuff behind Kou’s back and deciding on things arbitrarily. Such as setting up stuff where Kou gets dressed up in fancy dresses for a fancy party. Where Amari decided on her dress, made Kou go through make up, hairdressing, the works. And even stuck greeting other high society people as the young daughter of the representative.
Kou’s changed body in the real world basically looks like her game avatar, and looks like a younger version of Amari.
