Gosho sensei is a genius but at times such as Rum physically taking out the drug and wave it in front of Amanda which gave her the opportunity to ingest it herself is cartoonishly silly. Especially since he said he was not going to really poison her but merely threaten to in order to draw Rachel out. So why even take out the poison? Was he going to take a photo with pill in hand next to Amanda and send to Rachel? How about just take a photo without holding the poison pill. I'm sure Rachel will get the idea when she sees Amanda next to this guy wearing all black in a top hat and monocle.

The main character plot armor is quite dumb in this story... Skilled bodyguards were taken out easily meanwhile a cop was able to take down two black organization goon...

To be fair, I don't think most people would expect someone to just... choose suicide like that, even to save another person's life. Amanda seems like a typical rich old lady, even if she's more shrewd than the average socialite. Just overall not the kind of person to go out of her way to kill herself solely to protect her guard/daughter. I find the fact he left her alone without confirming her death (and thus leaving the opportunity to leave a dying message) to be more foolish.

I think he also might have expected Rachel was hiding somewhere close or had a way to overhear the conversation, like Amanda ordered her to hide nearby to have the element of surprise if things went south. Though I might be overthinking things with that one.
