Conan making the connection now when there's nothing really in common between then and the present sink issue, is so weird. Amuro's smiled at him like that plenty of times. I think Amuro meanwhile has suspected Conan is Shinichi for a while, so not as weird for him to basically just confirm it from that slip.

Ran is her father's daughter. Though she had moments of being suspicious, it's just that she is too innocent to not believe the excuses they give her.

That's what you need in detective fiction though. The sidekick is always a little slower on the uptake than even the most casual reader so the detective has to explain the case real simple, and also so the reader feels clever when they work it out before the sidekick. When you read something like Poirot, Holmes or Conan you're not just reading you're playing the game of trying to figure the solution out faster than Hastings, Watson or Ran. A good writer will pull it off so the reader always wins, but the sidekick doesn't seem totally stupid.

I figured out Shinichi Kudo shrunk down to a kid due to a drug and picked the name Edogawa Conan at least 1135 chapters ahead of Ran. So yeah, I do feel smarter than Ran.

I'm going to have to re-read chapters with him, cause I too could have sworn he knew. The fact that at some point everyone started treating Conan's involvement in cases so nonchalantly probably contributed to the feeling. Conan persona only really exists for the sake of Ran and Kogoro now.

No, he only knew Conan was behind Sleepy Kogoro and Akai's survival (something only him and Jodie was able to figure out on their own by the way)

I’m just so glad that the wild police boys are back even if just for a few chapters! They have such sad endings but the chapters where they are all together are just amazing. It’s also funny to me that Jinipei (fairly sure I butchered his name) and Shinichi are so similar in stubbornness. I love it!!
