@plumbob the author did say in an interview that the decision to reveal the name of the boss was carefully thought out.

While I'm excited about the development of the boss reveal, Shinichi-Ran being official and BO having a renewed interest in Kudo Shinichi, it is a bummer that Shinichi's daddy took a look at the message and figured out the identity of the boss before his own son did.

Shinichi said it before: this is his investigation and now his OP parents are coming in to do the planning for him. I guess Shinichi's daddy is right: he is way over his head and occasionally bailing him out at critical moments like this one shows that Shinichi isn't ready to take down a international crime syndicate by being in charge in the operation.

I do hope Shinichi finds a moment that allows him to surpass his father later on this series.
