@Yatsuki Aren't V's familiars incapable of killing anyone due to being Vergil's nightmares? That's why he always has to deliver the finishing blow on the demons. I figure the one in this chapter will turn out alive for a bit in the next.

@InedibleSpook Oh sheep, you're right XD. I'm so embarrassed, somehow I forgot this very important detail. I reckon it will be explained in the next chapter as well because V would also need to deliver the killing blow to that empusa?

@InedibleSpook @Yatsuki I guess it's not that they "can't", but rather they don't do it for V' sake, as he needs the demons alive to steal what's left of their vital force. But maybe I'm wrong, as I didn't play the game yet...

Ok so I was too lazy to replay the game atm XD so I watched the playthrough videos and exactly what Griffon said to V was "Gotta land the final blow, V! You know we can't kill demons!" and the "tips" also said Shadow can't finish off the demons and V has to be the one doing it. So there is a small chance Griffon did kill the mob character whose clothes V took, because that guy was human (maybe ).

The empusa, on the other hand, probably needs V to finish it? I just don't know if he could do it barehand or as he is now. As for taking the demon's energy, yeah V does take them after killing the demons, but apparently he needs the cane he always carries around to do so. I guess we have to wait until the next chapter to know for sure if Griffon could kill demons or not :/

Also SpardasHeir you should definitely play the game if possible, it's so good :3

Oh crap, guess you're right. Maybe then the reason they can't kill demons is part of the contract somehow. Well, we'll have to wait for some answers!
I knoooow, I really have to play this. DMC has been my fav game since DMC3. I'm dying to play this one (though I already know everything that happens 'cause I simply couldn't wait T-T), but I've so little time lately... When I do have time, gonna kick some demon ass
