A lot of H.C. Andersen's tales were adapted into anime, especially for the World Masterpiece Theater series, though his tale of the mermaid only got a movie...It’s obvious for us that live there as we have to read and learn about it in school. But can’t see why many other countries would spend much time on it, they have their own famous literature.
Man, as a Finn my Swedish is getting of so rusty when I even read Danish and thought it was Swedish.
