If they're 'data' surprised they could die versus corrupted/thru a virus lol but interesting concept

I think the rival should've stayed to the end to see the result of his actions so that he could be remorseful and realized the error of his ways. And from there, together with Daigo they could be changing the society's stigma of "wrong evolution" by also raising a variant and proving variants can also be as strong as the mainstreams.

tl;dr less Greymon line wanking, more rival redemption

Really like the approach to this, IIRC there was a character in V-Tamer like this with the whole outlook on competitive meta right? (been like a decade since I read it so I might be misremembering)

Yeah, Neo Saiba, the main rival antagonist. That obession was what led him to creating Arkadimon, the main driving force of the manga's second half.

Jogress death evolution? holly shit that's cool!

This story would have been even cooler, if they didn't wanked it to the greymon line, and actually made it work with the numemon line finishing it with a death evolution into Rare Raremon
That person is cooking! RareRaremon is an awsome design that definetly needs morescreentime and would have fit the composit-death theme, although that might have been to... dark maybe idk.

But I think it still works for Skullgreymon, since it is kinda the original unwanted evolution (as far as adventure goes) and some fans theorise that it is a composite digimon kinda like early scientists made unintentional chimeras out of fossilized bone.

OOOOOh, Chimeramon, would have been cool as well though it is strongly connected with Milleniumon, which is basically as strong as Digimon get.

I think this one is in the middle for me. It's prety good with some little social commentary sprinkled and when did anyone see Skullgreymon in a protagonistic, non-evil role? But it kinda needs a bit more ooompf.

Redemed Antagonist as someone said?
Perchance.
Maybe not ending with the Protagonist training jet another Greymon-family, even if it is the cool Greymon Blue X-Antibody version(I think?) because it kinda undermines the whole Argument of not going for the popular, meta-relevant types?
Absolutly.
Does it kinda feel bitter that when it comes down the austrazised Digimon only serve the plot by basically beeing canonfodder so the Protagonist can learn to return to a system that marginalized them in the frst place without even pointing that he made the world better for other subspecies type digimon?
Fuck yeah.

But besides That the art is greate, and they made Skullgreymon a good guy.
Update: Turns out, the Greymon is not the Greymon Blue X-Antybody version but --I think-- the 2010 Version from Xros Wars. The original blue one i think, not the orange variant or the ash one.... i think. Is pretty heard to tell in black and white. What tipped me off was the headphones looking structure between it's horns as well as it's ridged head carapice
