I think the girl committed double suicide because she relied on the boy to protect her or loved him obsessively but he couldn’t return that reliance or love and so she killed him and herself

I’m saying this based on where the wounds are, the guy might’ve been stabbed in the chest for the most damage while the girl was stabbed in the lower torso in order to commit seppuku?
