Like, I’m not saying Koreans aren’t hardworking people, but there’s a reason so many manhwas start with “I died from overwork at a company that treated me like shit”. There’s a culture of socially-enforced acquiescence to one’s superiors that gets taken advantage of, and that ends up creating toxic work environments where you basically do whatever your boss tells you to or else you’re fired. That’s not “overworking yourself”, that’s “I have to overwork because I’ve got a financial gun to my head”.
