Ever since the reveal that they work in a call center this thing has had me thinking about how, as an English speaker, my entire view of the entire call center industry is kind of inherently distorted. As the world's most common second language it's trivial to outsource English language tech support to ESL speakers in developing countries, but it ain't like there's a burgeoning demographic of Japanese speakers ripe for exploitation in Delhi and Addis Ababa for companies to abuse, so they've more or less got to resort to domestic agencies to handle tech support and customer communications.

Really hoping for a plot twist now where they end up moving in together after both are laid off when their company discovers a vast and untapped reservoir of Liberian weebs that they can hire for pennies on the dollar to tell Japanese callers that their PS5 is out of warranty, and who adamantly insist that they live in Kyoto and their name is Goku.
