I think too many people expected the detective to be L tbh. Like, I'm not saying that this plot twist isn't really cliche but everyone saying that came out of no-where hasn't been paying attention the last few chapters. He has been ridiculously close to every girl he interviewed and put his nose pretty much on the blond girls boobs. The dude is clearly not meant to be L.
