MDxes knows when we've clicked on a chapter, can't it use that in order to tell whether our vote should be valid or not?

This is my opinion: no, we can’t. Mangadex is basically a new site, each manga is reuploaded. It must be known that not all members bother to read again from the beginning, only some people who intend to reread according to their individual needs (for example, because they forget the story, etc). I observe the number of readers of early chapter is not as much as the recent chapter releases.
This can be interpreted, it can't be used as evidence because it only applies to some people. If you want to be fair, that means you have to be on ‘already read all the chapters’ to facilitate accumulation.

A reminder that "Following" in the case of this proposed feature would include the "Completed", "On Hold", and "Dropped" statuses. All of which, I believe, do not put chapter updates in your feed.
