Yes it's almost as if the entire purpose of any work of fiction with any point is for a bad thing to happen to someone and for them to have to deal with it somehow. Works of fiction where everyone is happy and everything is perfect and nothing ever happens and there's no plot, they don't seem to be very prevalent for some reason.I just feel so so sorry for our MC.
