I wasn't admonished for it, but I remember in 5th grade when the teacher was reading some books out loud i also read over her shoulder and corrected her, i must've come off as annoying back in the day (tho surprised the teacher kept getting some words wrong considering i was an esl kid and she was white [and one teacher, asked us to massage her while she was reading stuff in like 3rd grade, nothing inappropriate/she was just older and sore but i can imagine a teacher asking that now wouldn't be allowed])
