The same kind who, despite concluding shortly before that a fire dragon can't take him, somehow gets the idea that the fire dragon's breath will be able to. The same kind who, despite knowing how powerful he's become, can't immediately arrive at the reason he's not hurt by the fire by intuition.

There's that or the possibility that the author's simply building up to that which this arc was written around--the "lolicon" food. The MC is supposed to keep thinking--excitedly--about a little girl seeing his penis, and--by extension and self-immersion--you, the reader, are supposed to vicariously share the same mental state...but a slightly different one.

I'm banking on both. That aside, as I'm catching up, I'm also expecting the inevitable redemption for the pedobait that I predicted. Not a substantial thing will happen to her save what tickles the loins of "lolicons".
